Dirty Dozen List Of Foods You Should Buy Organic




Buying organic is always the best way to purchase your fruits and vegetables.

But sometimes we can’t always purchase them as often as we would like.

the Environmental Working Group‘s 2013 Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce has recently released their latest “Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen” list.

This will help you on what to steer away from in the produce section.

**Note:  The health benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure. Eating conventionally grown produce is far better than skipping fruits and vegetables. “(quote from the EWG website) So please, if you can’t purchase organic, still eat your fruits and vegetables.

The Dirty Dozen List:

  1. Apples

  2. Strawberries

  3. Grapes

  4. Celery

  5. Peaches

  6. Spinach

  7. Sweet Bell Peppers

  8. Imported Nectarines

  9. Cucumbers

  10. Potatoes

  11. Cherry Tomatoes

  12. Hot Peppers

These did not make the list but still have a high level of pesticides:

  1. Kale

  2. Collard Greens

  3. Summer Squash

Clean Fifteen:

  1. Corn

  2. Onions

  3. Pineapple

  4. Avocados

  5. Cabbage

  6. Frozen Sweet Peas

  7. Papayas

  8. Mangoes

  9. Asparagus

  10. Eggplant

  11. Kiwi

  12. Grapefruit

  13. Cantaloupe

  14. Sweet potatoes

  15. Mushrooms
