Seed Calendar ~ When To Plant Your Seeds!

 

In January is when I start planning my garden for the year.

 

It helps to have a list or a chart to be able to decide when to plant what you want in your garden.

  • broccoli May 15-29th
  • brussel sprouts May 15-29th
  • cabbage Feb. 28th- March 15th
  • cauliflower May 15-29th
  • celery Feb. 14-28th
  • cucumbers March 29-April 5
  • eggplant Feb 14-28
  • kale March 15-29
  • leeks Feb 14-28
  • lettuce March 15-29
  • melons March 29th -April 5
  • squash -March 29-April 12
  • sweet potatoes March 29-April 5
  • swiss chard March 15-29
  • tomatoes Feb 28 -March 15
  • watermelon March 29-april 5

Planting Outside:

  • cabbage May 15-31
  • cauliflower May 15-31
  • celery May 15-June 30
  • cucumbers May 7th to June 20th
  • eggplants June 1-30th
  • leeks May 15-31
  • lettuce May 15-June 30th
  • parsley May 15-31
  • peppers May 15-June 30th
  • pumpkin May 15 to June 31
  • squash May 15- June 15
  • sweet potatoes May 14-June 15th
  • tomatoes May 15-31
  • watermelons may 15 -june 30th
  • Beans – plant after last spring frost when temps are at least 9 oC
  • Carrots – plant 3-5 weeks before last spring frost
  • Corn – plant 2 weeks after last spring frost soil must be at least 15  oC
  • Onion sets – plant in late March / early April when temps don’t go below -6 oC
  • Parsnips – plant in April
  • Peas – plant 4-6 weeks before the last spring frost when temps don’t go below 7 oC
  • Radishes – plant 6 weeks after the last spring frost
