Spring Cleaning Checklist





The easiest way to get your Spring Cleaning done, is to have a checklist of the areas you want to hit!

Here is my checklist to get your started off!



  1. Wash windows
  2. Take down blinds/curtains and wash
  3. Wipe down furniture
  4. Go through clothes and donate stuff that is too small.
  5. Move Bed.  Sort and put away anything that was under bed.  Sweep or vacuum under bed.  Store items in proper containers.
  6. Wash pillows and duvet in hot water.  Air out mattress pad, if you have one.
  7. Dust lights, clean lampshades.
  8. Dust pictures and knicknacks
  9. Sweep and wash/vacuum floors.
  10. Wash doors and door knobs.
  11. Freshen mattress (CLICK HERE to find out how to with baking soda)
  12. Wash switch plates, trim and vent covers.
  13. Open windows



  1. Remove window coverings and clean blinds or wash curtains
  2. Wash windows
  3. Wash outside of cupboards and knobs
  4. Clean and organize pantry
  5. Clean stove top
  6. Clean oven
  7. Clean and organize fridge and freezer
  8. Defrost freezer if needed
  9. Organize/throw out containers
  10. Clean microwave
  11. Clean crumbs out of toaster
  12. Dust light fixtures
  13. Wash doors and doorknobs
  14. Wash switch plates and trim.
  15. Wash floor registers
  16. sweep and wash floor.



  1. Take down window dressings (blinds and curtains) and wash them.
  2. If your shower curtain is fabric, take it down and wash it.
  3. Clean cabinets and vanity out and wash inside. Replace items neatly and throw out what you don’t want or use.
  4. Wash outside of vanity and cabinets
  5. Clean toilet inside and outside.
  6. Clean sink and shower/bathtub
  7. Dust light fixtures
  8. Wash trim, switch plates and vents
  9. Wash down door(s) and door knobs

  11. Sweep and mop floor


Laundry Room:

  1. Take down any window covering and wash. (our skip the step if you like me and don’t have any windows in there!)
  2. Clean your washing machine (Click here to find out how)
  3. Wash windows
  4. Wash cabinet doors and knobs
  5. Throw out any empty bottles
  6. Wipe down washer and dryer with wet cloth
  7. Wipe down door and doorknob
  8. Run washer with machine cleaning puck.
  9. Wash switch plates, vents and walls.
  10. Sweep and mop floors


Livingroom/Family Room:

  1. Take down window dressings and wash
  2. Wash windows
  3. Dust electronics
  4. Dust pictures
  5. Vacuum sofas
  6. Launder any pillows or throws
  7. Clean lamps and lampshades
  8. Wash window sills
  9. Fix any electrical wires that are messy
  10. Clean up dvd /music collection
  11. Wash any hard plastic children’s toys
  12. Donate toys that your children no longer use
  13. Wash walls, trim , switch plates and vents.
  14. Sweep and mop floor or vacuum floor



  1. Wash any window dressings
  2. Wash windows
  3. Wipe down table and chairs
  4. Polish table
  5. Wash any chair pads /table cloth
  6. Dust any wall pictures/art
  7. Dust light fixtures
  8. Wash vents, switch plates and trim.
  9. Wash doors/doorknobs
  10. Sweep and wash floor.



  1. Wash banister
  2. Clean walls
  3. sweep and vacuum stairs
  4. Dust pictures and light fixtures.


  1. Sweep porches
  2. Wash exterior doors
  3. Pressure wash porches
  4. Clean up any garbage in yard.
  5. Clean out gardens for new flowers
  6. Wash siding.



  1. Clean fan blades on ceiling fans/portable fans
  2. Sort and Clean Garage
  3. Organize pictures
