My son is a huge Dino Dan fan. Spencer loves watching the movies and enjoys them time and time again. Spencer has a television in his own room so he can watch one movie before bed and he usually chooses one from the Dino Dan Trek’s Adventures series.
The Dino Dan movies have several stories included in them to keep your child entertained. It is a great reason to pop in a movie and have a family movie night at home with popcorn!

Finalist Pre-Teen Literature: Dan Poynter’s 2011 Global Ebook Awards
At the dawn of Camelot, one young girl is about to take her place beside the greatest king in England’s history.
She is a mere child of twelve. But in these medieval days, this is the age when childish things must be put away and greater responsibilities accepted–all in preparation for a betrothal of marriage. For young Lady Guinevere, on the advent of her thirteenth Birth Day, the whole idea is quite unbearable. After all, what could be better than spending her youth playing with her best friend Cedwyn, roaming the grounds around the castle looking for mythical creatures or hunting rabbits? However, the wizard Merlyn–her teacher and friend–knows that destiny has a way of catching up with a person. His arrival sets in motion a series of events that will lead Guinevere to her destiny whether she is ready for it or not.
“Cheryl Carpinello’s middle grade adventure novel, featuring a visit from King Arthur and a few of his knights, is a wonderful introduction ~ to King Arthur, and to the lives of knights and others in a castle.”
“I do wish the story had been a little longer, but as this book is aimed at a younger reader with a shorter attention span, I can understand why it was not.”
“It’s a great story about loyalty, friendship and overcoming obstacles.”
“This was a delightful rollercoaster of a read, taking us on a journey with each of the characters. There were moments of great sadness, where I felt so wholeheartedly for the characters and their situations.”
Guinevere: On the Eve of Legend:
“I read this book to my son and daughter and they both loved it. It was a fast-paced book with a lot of excitement.”
“Will appeal to middle school aged readers, especially girls but boys too, who can relate to the idea of wanting independence yet struggling with the obligations that come with it.”
“Wizards, unicorns, and dragons are a few of the mythical creatures you will encounter in this enchanting book.”
“It is interesting and filled with enough Arthurian legend to keep young readers entertained. The questions at the end are great for comprehension and give the readers a chance to discuss their own take on the story.”

The Fujifilm Instax® Mini 8 instant camera reminds me of when I had an old Poloroid camera as a teen and would take a ton of pictures with my friends at school. We had lots of these pictures up in our lockers. I even have some of those pictures around in my old photo boxes.
Fujifilm made it even better. Not only does it have a more modern look to the Instax® Mini 8, produces better instant photos but it comes in really cool colours that you or your teen would love.
The Instax® Mini 8 comes in Blue, Black, Pink, White, Raspberry, Grape and Yellow.
We received Instax Mini 8 instant camera in Raspberry.
The features for the Instax Mini 8 are:
Built-In Lens Cover
Instant Photos (credit card sized pictures to fit in your purse or wallet.)
Electronic Shutter- 1/60 sec. shutter speed.
Brightness Adjustment Dial (automatically determines the best brightness and suitable setting.)
Auto Flash/Focus Free
The Instax Mini 8 kit comes with:
Instax Mini 8 instant camera
Instax Instant Film (10 credit card sized instant photos)
2 x AA Batteries
The Instax Mini 8 is a very easy to use point and shoot. I had Hayley take it with her to her friend’s house where she was getting ready for the Semi-Formal Dance. She tried it here at home to make sure she had no problems. She didn’t which isn’t surprising with all the technology now, kids can work equipment fast. She took great pictures with her friend and can look back on her first Semi-Formal Dance.
Here is what my 14 year old Hayley says about her thought on the Instax Mini 8:
The Instax Mini 8 is really easy to set up. The setting on the lens tells you what lighting you should use and is really helpful to get the right picture. It is really fun to get a instant picture right away. You can get different films to personalize the photos. (Diane popping in to let you know the film she is talking about is the Instax® Mini Rainbow Film) The colours of the pictures are very nice and vibrant. I like that you can get different colours of the Instax Mini 8 cameras to show your personality.
Some great accessories you could purchase to go with the Instax® Mini 8 are:
Instax® Mini 8 Rainbow Film
NEW Instax® Mini 8 Photo Album – Blue (comes in other colours)
NEW Instax® Personality Pegs
NEW Instax® Pretty Magnetic Pegs
The Instax Mini 8 instant camera is a perfect gift for tweens, teens and adults with lots of great accessories to add to the gift. The Instax Mini 8 Photo Album and the Instax Pegs are great stocking stuffers for the Holiday Season.
When I was a little girl I loved taking pictures. My dad gave me my grandfather’s camera and I would run all over our small town taking pictures of random things. I would run out of film so quickly and have to save up my allowance for more film. Now as an adult, we don’t have to worry about film anymore since everything has gone digital. Now even the most beginner photographer can learn how to take amazing pictures with the Fujifilm X-A2. The design of the camera has almost a retro look to it. It reminds me of my grandfather’s camera that I first started taking pictures on.
I am someone that likes to take pictures more than actually being in the picture. So for me I like a camera that gives me everything I need at my fingertips. I am an amateur when it comes to taking pictures. I just like pictures to look like I know what I am doing.
The Fujifilm X-A2 includes:
Digital Camera X-A2
Interchangeable lens 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II
CD-ROM with application software & owner’s manual
What’s not included is the SD card. You can purchase one of those at any place that you purchase your Fujifilm X-A2. The SD card is very affordable.
The Key Features of the Fujifilm X-A2:
3.0″175° tilting LCD Monitor
16.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
Up to 5.6 fps Shooting and ISO 25600
Built-in WiFi Connectivity (Makes uploading pictures to your computer a snap!)
Full HD 1080p Video Recording at 30 fps
Q Menu Button and Super i-Flash
Eye AF, Auto Macro AF, Multi-Target AF
Film Simulation modes and Multiple Exposure
There are so many features on the Fujifilm X-A2 that I enjoy but my favourites are the Red Eye removal (How many pictures have you wished that they didn’t have red eyes in the past?) , the Self Portraits (which was so easy even my kids could do it.) and the Timer Setting. (Now I can be in pictures with my family instead of always just taking pictures.)
Last night we were making Salt Dough Ornaments and then watching Home Alone 2 with some hot chocolate. I figured it would be a great time to capture some of these moments on the Fujifilm X-A2. Since my husband is on the road right now trucking, it helps him to see what we were doing while he was gone and be a part of the memories even though he wasn’t able to be here.
Here was Spencer painting one of his ornaments. In our house, our lighting isn’t the best for pictures. But with the Fujifilm X-A2, you don’t even notice that our lighting is dull. The pictures of the kids were great. The close ups of their faces were so crisp and clear. We used the flash with the night setting inside and it worked perfectly.
Here is Hayley doing her ornaments.
Then we had some fun before the movie started. We used the 10 second timer and took a picture of us before the movie. A quick family picture which we don’t do often enough. (our dog Darby had to get in the picture too!)
Hayley took some selfies with the Fujifilm X-A2. She loved having some fun with it. She’s the Selfie Queen after all.
Today while the kids went to school I took the Fujifilm X-A2 and went around town taking some pictures of the Christmas decorations with the lens hood on using the daylight settings.
I also took a picture of our furbabies:
Darby (outside enjoying the bit of sun we had that day.)
You can upload your pictures wireless to your smartphone with the Fujifilm camera app. Very simple to do and the app makes it simple. It connected no problem to upload the pictures to my smartphone. This is great if you love to put pictures on your wallpaper on your smartphone.
Simply download the App, open it and set the camera to the Playback mode (Where you view the photos you already took.) Then press the fn button on the top and a Wireless Transfer menu will come up on screen. Choose how you want to transfer the images.
On your smartphone tap Receive and then Connect. Choose the images you want to transfer, hit OK and it will start to transfer. It’s really is that simple! Then you can add the pictures to your social media accounts or show them to your friends when you are out!
The Fujifilm X-A2 would make a great gift for anyone this Holiday Season. Seeing this digital camera under the tree would make anyone smile!
