This is a great recipe that my children love and request often. It goes away from the traditional lasagna and it is something fun for the kids.
You can change it up by adding other items in it. (Different cheeses, different meats or vegetables.)
The sky is the limit with Lasagna Buns.
1lb of Ground Beef Spices (I use Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb because I am on a no sodium diet. But you can use what you wish) 1 container of Cottage cheese Aluminum Foil Butter Pack of 8 buns from the bakery (kaisers) 1 package of shredded cheese or 500g brick cheese. 1 green pepper Spaghetti sauce Optional: 1 can of diced tomatoes or 1 whole tomato diced 1 yellow onion
Fry ground beef up in frying pan and while it is frying add your spices. Chop up green pepper and any other veggie you want to add Just before meat is finished frying, add veggies and spaghetti sauce Preheat oven for 350 F Let it cook for a few minutes. If you are using brick cheese now is the time to shred it. (Start with 2 cups of cheese. you may need more if you wish to make it cheesy) Open buns & spread butter lightly on bread Add cottage cheese to one side and then shredded cheese. On the other side add the meat mixture Close the bun and wrap it in aluminum foil Place on baking tray Cook for 5 mins
