Halloween Recipes

Hayley is inviting her friends to sleepover the night before Halloween.

I thought it would be fun to make them some Halloween treats for them to enjoy while watching movies.

I also love trying new recipes so this gives me an excuse to go looking for Halloween recipes.

Here are five of my favourites that I found on the internet.

Buckslide Dog Treats #Review

As most of my family and friends know, my dog is my baby.

Darby is by my side all day long. (Even while I write this review he is laying beside me in a chair)

So it is very important to me to keep Darby healthy and happy!

canadian basics

(This bag had 3 other pieces in it but my children kept giving them to Darby before I could do the review!)

I was asked to do a review for Buckside Dog Treats, I jumped at the chance.

Buckslide Dog treats are 100% natural! That  had me wanting to have Darby try them out!

Buckslide Dog Treats are dehydrated dog treats made from government inspected raw meat.

There are NO additives of any kind in these treats!

Just the best for your fur baby!

I gave them to Darby and he literally took it from my hand before I had a chance to snap a picture!

He never does that! So that proves to me he LOVES them!

I will be purchasing more for him.

I highly recommend them for your fur baby!

Canadian Basics(He wouldn’t let me show him eating it. lol) He was trying to get away so he could enjoy it in peace!

PUR Gum Review – Perfect For ALL Special Diets!!

[sam id=”12″ codes=”true”]

Myself and my kids loved PUR Gum!
And I am sure you and your family will love it as much as us!

When the package arrived we received 4 different flavours:

  • Wintergreen Gum

  • Pomegranate Mint Gum

  • Spearmint Gum

  • Peppermint Gum

Even though we enjoyed them all! We each had our favourite flavours!

Hayley (my 12 year old) loved the fruity mint flavour of Pomegranate Mint Gum. She said it tasted exactly like pomegranates and not that fake tasting flavour that some fruity gums have but it still gave her a
fresh breath feeling with the mint. She ended up having almost the whole pack and shared it with her best friend!

Myself , I liked the Spearmint Gum and Peppermint Gum the best! I like a gum a stronger mint flavour so these were perfect for me.  I am always chewing gum so I think I found a new brand that I will be using for now on!!

Spencer’s  (my 8 year old) favourite was Wintergreen Gum! He is a boy of few words so he just gave me two thumbs up on this one! lol

I love that PUR Gum is a healthier choice of chewing gum!

PUR Gum is sweetened with Xylitol, a naturally-occuring sugar alcohol and a healthy alternative to sugar or artificial sweeteners!!

PUR gum is gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, non-gmo, celiac, diabetic friendly, dairy free and safe for pregnant moms!

As a parent that makes me happy! Not only do I not worry giving my children this, but also their friends with special diets!

Lasagna Buns

This is a great recipe that my children love and request often. It goes away from the traditional lasagna and it is something fun for the kids.

You can change it up by adding other items in it. (Different cheeses, different meats or vegetables.)

The sky is the limit with Lasagna Buns.

Lasagna Buns
Save RecipeSave Recipe

  • 1lb of Ground Beef
  • Spices (I use Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb because I am on a no sodium diet. But you can use what you wish)
  • 1 container of Cottage cheese
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Butter
  • Pack of 8 buns from the bakery (kaisers)
  • 1 package of shredded cheese or 500g brick cheese.
  • 1 green pepper
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Optional:
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes or 1 whole tomato diced
  • 1 yellow onion

  1. Fry ground beef up in frying pan and while it is frying add your spices.
  2. Chop up green pepper and any other veggie you want to add
  3. Just before meat is finished frying, add veggies and spaghetti sauce
  4. Preheat oven for 350 F
  5. Let it cook for a few minutes. If you are using brick cheese now is the time to shred it. (Start with 2 cups of cheese. you may need more if you wish to make it cheesy)
  6. Open buns & spread butter lightly on bread
  7. Add cottage cheese to one side and then shredded cheese.
  8. On the other side add the meat mixture
  9. Close the bun and wrap it in aluminum foil
  10. Place on baking tray
  11. Cook for 5 mins
